Credentials and Capabilities That Set ARBDA Apart
The depth of clinical leadership at ARBDA is uncommon for an independent practice. Founder Dr. Sheldon Solomon holds the title of “Master” from the American College of Rheumatology, the highest distinction that organization awards. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certifications in rheumatology, geriatrics, and bone densitometry, and he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Arthritis Foundation as well as the National Fibromyalgia Association Physician of the Year Award in 2008.
Dr. Mark Fisher, a founding partner and Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, has served as a clinical investigator in phase 2 and phase 3 trials for new biologics and rheumatoid arthritis medications, giving ARBDA direct involvement in treatments that are now standard of care.
ARBDA's diagnostic ultrasound center is led by Amy Evangelisto, M.D., RhMSUS, who holds certifications in both diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound and recently served as President of the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists, a combination that's rare in an independent practice setting. ARBDA also works with most major insurance plans and helps identify copay assistance options. When you're referred to our practice, we share records and findings with your primary care provider so your care stays consistent across providers.
How Your Treatment Journey Starts
Your first visit will begin with a comprehensive intake: a review of your medical history, a detailed physical examination, and an open conversation about your symptoms. Your rheumatologist may recommend diagnostic testing, including ultrasound or blood work, at the same visit.
From there, we begin building a personalized treatment plan that may include medication, infusion therapy, physical therapy, or referrals to clinical trials. Dr. Fisher's background in phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trial research means patients who may benefit from investigational therapies may have a direct path to those options. We encourage questions at every appointment and make sure you leave with a clear explanation of your diagnosis, your test results, and your next steps.
Biologic Infusion Therapy Without a Hospital Stay
ARBDA was the first independent rheumatology practice in New Jersey to offer in-office infusion services, completing its first infusion treatment in 2001. Today, across seven infusion centers, ARBDA completes as many as 29,000 infusions for over 8,000 patients in one year. IDYLLIC Infusion Treatment Centers are located within ARBDA offices, so Ewing Township patients can access advanced biologic infusions at substantially lower cost compared to hospital-based treatment, with an on-site medical professional supervising every infusion.
Biologic infusion therapy targets specific mechanisms of inflammation and is typically used when oral medications haven't achieved adequate disease control. As part of ongoing autoimmune disease management, we also provide education on lifestyle adjustments, medication management, and insurance or copay support. Learn more about our infusion services.
