Elizabeth S. Thomas, D.O., RhMSUS

Dr. Elizabeth S. Thomas graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington College in Chestertown, MD, and completed her medical education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Here, Dr. Thomas was named Intern of the Year and served both her patients and colleagues as the Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. Upon completing her Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Thomas pursued a fellowship in Rheumatology at the renowned Geisinger Medical Center.

Since 2017, Dr. Thomas has participated in ongoing research projects centered on exploring the ideal methods to improve care for patients who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, she has presented her findings on effective screening, treatment, and prevention of Vitamin-D deficiencies and Osteoporosis at various academic symposia.

Most recently, Dr. Thomas completed an extensive training program in musculoskeletal ultrasound use as both a diagnostic and treatment modality. Her accomplishment(s) in this arena were recognized by the American College of Rheumatology through their RhMSUS certification program (Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Certification in Rheumatology) as well as the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR).

Dr. Thomas is active in many organizational activities including those of the American College of Rheumatology, the Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society and the American Osteopathic Association.
