Rheumatology Care in Brick

Fellowship-Trained Care for Joint, Bone & Autoimmune Conditions

Persistent joint pain, swelling, stiffness, recurring flares, or unexplained bone loss may require more than short-term symptom relief. At Arthritis, Rheumatic & Bone Disease Associates, we diagnose and medically manage arthritis, osteoporosis, and inflammatory and autoimmune disorders at our Brick Township office.

Our physicians review your medical history, perform a physical examination, and may use blood testing or imaging to evaluate conditions affecting the joints, bones, muscles, connective tissues, and immune system. We welcome new patients, second opinions, and updated assessments of known conditions.

Call (856) 424-5005 to request a rheumatology evaluation in Brick and take the next step toward a diagnosis and individualized care plan.

Arthritis, Osteoporosis & Autoimmune Conditions We Treat

Rheumatic diseases can cause similar symptoms even when their causes and treatment needs differ. We connect a thorough medical assessment with ongoing monitoring, medication management, and treatment tailored to your diagnosis.

We diagnose and manage conditions that include:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Psoriatic arthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Lupus
  • Gout and pseudogout
  • Vasculitis
  • Polymyalgia rheumatica
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Scleroderma
  • Sjögren’s syndrome
  • Tendinitis and bursitis

Inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune diseases often require continuing evaluation because symptoms, test results, and disease activity can change. Osteoporosis care addresses bone health and factors that may affect fracture risk over time.

Diagnostic Testing & Rheumatology Treatment Options

We provide diagnostic blood panels, imaging, therapeutic injections, oral medication management, infusion therapy, and long-term disease monitoring within our practice. Your care plan may change based on your diagnosis, medical needs, test results, and response to treatment.

In-Office Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Our in-office diagnostic ultrasound produces real-time images of joints, tendons, and soft tissue without radiation. A physician trained in rheumatology interprets each scan and considers the findings alongside your examination and clinical history.

Medication & Therapeutic Injections

Treatment may include oral medication or therapeutic injections, depending on the condition being managed. We consider your diagnosis, disease activity, test results, lifestyle, and medical needs when developing or adjusting your treatment plan.

Biologic Infusion Therapy

We provide biologic infusion therapy through IDYLLIC Infusion Treatment Centers located within our offices, with an on-site medical professional supervising every infusion. We were the first independent rheumatology practice in New Jersey to offer in-office biologic infusions and completed our first infusion treatment in 2001.

Fellowship-Trained Rheumatology Physicians Since 1974

Arthritis, Rheumatic & Bone Disease Associates is an independent rheumatology practice established in 1974. Every physician has completed additional fellowship training in rheumatology and is board-certified or board-eligible. Your care comes from a physician with focused training in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, not a general practitioner who handles rheumatology on the side.

Our physicians have also contributed to leadership and research in the field. Founder Dr. Sheldon Solomon holds the American College of Rheumatology Master distinction, the organization’s highest honor. Dr. Mark Fisher has served as a clinical investigator in phase 2 and phase 3 trials involving new biologics and medications for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

We coordinate with referring and primary care physicians by sharing relevant records and findings. This communication keeps each clinician informed about your evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management.

How to Prepare for Your Rheumatology Appointment

Our local office provides access to evaluation, diagnostic services, treatment, and follow-up care. We welcome questions and explain your diagnosis, test results, and next steps so you can make informed decisions about your health.

When available, bring your medication list, relevant medical records, previous laboratory results or imaging, and notes about your symptoms. It can be useful to record when your symptoms began, how long stiffness lasts, which joints are affected, and whether symptoms occur in flares.

Request an Evaluation or Second Opinion

Whether you need an initial assessment, a second opinion, or an updated review of an existing diagnosis, our fellowship-trained physicians can evaluate your symptoms and discuss the next steps. We work with most major insurance plans and help identify available copay assistance options.

Questions About Your Rheumatology Care

What is rheumatology?
Rheumatology is the branch of medicine focused on diagnosing and treating diseases of the joints, bones, muscles, and immune system. Rheumatologists manage conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoporosis, gout, and more than 100 other autoimmune and inflammatory disorders.
How is a rheumatologist different from a general practitioner?
After internal medicine residency, rheumatologists complete two to three additional years of fellowship training in diseases of the joints and immune system. Every physician at Arthritis, Rheumatic & Bone Disease Associates completed this training. A general practitioner does not have this specialized background.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring any prior lab results, imaging studies, or records from your primary care physician or previous specialists. A list of current medications is also helpful. Your physician will review everything before the examination and use it to inform your diagnostic workup.
How does in-office infusion therapy work?
Biologic medications for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are sometimes administered intravenously rather than by pill or injection. Our IDYLLIC Infusion Treatment Centers provide this treatment inside our offices with a medical professional supervising every session, at substantially lower cost than hospital-based infusion.
Is in-office ultrasound the same as radiology imaging?
Diagnostic ultrasound in our offices provides real-time images of joints, tendons, and soft tissue without radiation. Unlike a radiology referral, every scan at Arthritis, Rheumatic & Bone Disease Associates is interpreted by a physician with specific rheumatology training, so findings are evaluated in the context of your condition, not in isolation.
Do you coordinate with my primary care physician?
Yes. We collaborate closely with referring and primary care physicians, sharing records and findings so your care stays consistent across providers. You won't need to repeat your history or serve as the messenger between offices.
